Upgrade fails on two 11.10 machines

Tonight I tried to upgrade both of my 11.10 systems to 12.04 and received an error on both machines.

On both machines I ran the following command -

    kubuntu-devel-release-upgrade

    Desktop -

The upgrade started, and the process began to calculate files. Then I got the following error and it terminated. (see attached image)

    Notebook -

Ran the command, and came back with this error -

    "No New release found".

Both machines are 64-bit of 11.10, and it's no big deal if I have to wait until the end of the month. I was just curious about the Beta 2!

Did you put sudo before the command?

I've always seen the upgrade as follows:
    sudo do-release-upgrade -d

(where the -d means to use the development version)

Hello. I beleive you can only upgrade this way after a Kubuntu version has actually been released. In which case 12.04 is not yet released - It's in Beta 2. This is supported by the attached screenshot that says one of the causes for failure is "Upgrading to a pre-release of Ubuntu".

You will need to use a CD or USB image and do a fresh install I believe, or wait until the official release.

If you stick the -d at the end of the line, you can upgrade to a development/pre-release version.

I did see that in the release notes. Thanks for pointing that out.

Just tried that command on the Notebook, still comes up with "no release" error.

Went into the package configuration and selected "Pre-Release Update".

Again no big deal, I can wait until the 26th, just was in the mood to check out 12.04 a little bit early!

odd, ive done this about 4 times in the last week 'do-release-upgrade -d'. Worked just fine. Well, not just fine on the last one, had to apt-get -f install then dist-upgrade cause it didn't work out well. minor fixes though

You could always try changing the contents of source.lst to point to Precise rather than Oneiric if you're wiling.

The version installed on my notebook is a bit buggy (installed programs just disappear), so I think I'll just frag it at the end of the month and install it clean.

                      i can't too

[UPDATED] Solved removing first libgconf2-4 and packages that depends on

I'm trying to upgrade from 11.10 bu i can't, it seems that there are dependencies problem: E:Error, pkgProblemResolver::Resolve generated breaks, this may be
                      caused by held packages.

                      An the apt.log from /var/log/dist-upgrade
