kopete segfaulting

I use kopete, mostly to get instant email notifications from my yahoo account.
Having trouble using on Precise, keeps pulling a segmentation fault -- but only sometimes. Usually after 2 or 3 tries, it will start.
Weird.

I'm guessing here, but could it be that Kopete is set to use KWallet, but the KWallet system is turned off or disabled on your system?

Yes, kwallet is off, but if you were right, then (1) why does it run on 11.10, where kwallet is also disabled, and (2) why does it start sometimes? I don't really think kwallet is the problem. If there is a way to tell kopete not to use it, I haven't found it, and would be happy to give that a try. I think it's coded into it somewhere.
