    Kubuntu 12.04 Installation errors,SOS.

Last night, U disk to install Kubuntu12.04, at the beginning when I installed the choice of Chinese, then install. when I choose to manually partition, after i click the "continue" button, then wrong pop-up dialog box, the error information is as follows:
    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    Ubi-console-setup crashed

Ubi-console-setup failed with exit code 141
Further information may be found in / var / log / syslog.
Do you want to try running this step again before continuing?
If you do not, your installation may fail entirely or may be broken.
    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Please help me, thanks a lot!

I "think" that you need to install in a language other than Asian (Chinese) 'initially' - say English. You shouldn't have to do that, I'll agree, but....
Windows no longer obstructs my view.

Where did you download your Kubuntu iso from and what sort of medium did you use to creat the startup disk? I must admit that I am not familiar with what is "U disk" nor what you mean by "Ubi console-setup"

"U Disk" is USB flash drives,I don't understand the "Ubi console-setup" is what mean.

I assume that you created the USB from System>Startup Disk Creator and that you downloaded the current build from http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/kubuntu/daily-live/current/. Is this correct?

I am beginning to wonder if you made a mistake when you did the manual partition of your disk. You will find a guide for this at http://www.linuxbsdos.com/2011/05/12...kubuntu-11-04/.

When you select the option of Try kubuntu, can you get the Kubuntu desktop and mount your hard drive? When you launch the File Manager Dolphin, you should see the hard disk partitions on the left panel. If you select any one of these you should see the files in those partitions. If you cannot see any partitions, I hope you are able to follow the steps in the guide above to fix your system. Best of Luck

I am having essentially the same issue... When I try to configure the file systems manually, a pop-up dialog comes up making me confirm I'm about to permanently hose a disk, but the system at this point seems to lock up. More accurately, it seems to be spinning/running away because the mouse cursor will move a tiny bit about once every 5 seconds (if I'm moving the mouse at that time), but the system is otherwise completely unresponsive. I cannot click any button on the dialog, and the keyboard (including ctrl-alt-del) has no effect.

I tried using CD's with beta 1 and beta 2, and also tried a bootable USB with beta2. Always the same result.

Has anyone else experienced this? Any other suggestions?
I'm running an Asus p9x79 with an i7-3930k, with nothing over-clocked during the installation attempts.

                  Would much appreciate any guidance.

When I installed beta 1, I had to use Ubuntu to partition the disk. The live CD wouldn't do it, neither during installation, nor before with the KDE partition manager. Gparted did the trick.
