    No Plymouth screens after recent updates

    I no longer see Plymouth screens on boot and shutdown after recent updates were applied. Anyone else (not) seeing this?

    It turns out "quiet splash" mysteriously went missing from my grub file. History shows that I am somehow implicated in this.

      If you include those options in /etc/default/grub as:

      GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT="quiet splash"

      and then run:
      Code:
      sudo update-grup2
      You won't have to worry about the options 'going missing' again, unless, on an update, the /etc/default/grub file is included, but even then, you are prompted as to whether or not you want to replace or keep your existing file. I always keep, as any system file I've modified I want to keep.
      Windows no longer obstructs my view.

        I'm certain I foolishly omitted "quiet splash" from my grub config after manually editing it so look not at this experience my friend!
