    Muon Package Manager needs authorization

UPDATE: this has somehow been resolved with a shutdown (not restart)

Been using 12.04 for about 2 days now. Everything works great, not alot of crashes. BUT . . . (there's always a but hey?) lol
I can install software perfectly and without any major headaches via Muon Software Centre. Get to Muon Package Manager and I want to scream. I tried to install Nixnote (which I add via PPA) and then I get this popup window
This operation cannot continue since proper authorization was not provided

I've got polykit 1 installed (can't/won't install the i386). Checking in konsole, it's installed correctly and it's the latest version.
I downloaded Skype and cannot install it.

PS I didn't upgrade from a previous version, after a year of battling on with win7, I rejoiced when the laptop warranty ran out & I couldn't install Kubuntu fast enough *gives evil grin*

    Anyway of resolving this
UPDATE: Can't install software using Muon Software Centre either now grrr

Look at some of the other threads about MUON. Apt-get commands seem to work around its issues. I found sudo dpkg --configure -a seemed to solve my problem.

It sounds like the KDE PolicyKit frontend is crashing. You can check if it's running by pressing ctrl + esc and typing "polkit-kde-auth" in the filter.

Hi thanks for the input guys, but I did update this thread to solved when somehow a completely shutdown (not a restart) sorted the problem. Haven't had any issues yet
