Looks like there are a few source uploads of 4.8beta2 going into precise.

This should mean (if all goes as expected) that we can get our hands dirty soon.

4.8 beta2 uploads underway (unless Riddell mixed up the repos again...unlikely).

Like always, better to wait with the upgrade until all packages are available.

Kontact is crashing with

Do you see any Kerberos packages being held back? Last night when I tried an upgrade after an update, aptitude (and apt-get, too) wanted to hold back five Kerberos-related libraries.

no I dident see anything geting held back in the upgrade just 270+ to upgrade and a few new.

Kmix is hoging 100% CPU after playing a vid in VLC (I think) was testing dragon as well going to restart and check that.

yes starting VLC runns Kmix to 100% CPU ......killing VLC dosent chang it .......but Killing kmix then restarting it dose .............still no spellcheck in firefox eather.

I did an upgrade on my netbook last night and started to see some kde-4.7.90 packages, yay. I did see 4-5 kerberos packages held back also for some reason.

I'm upgrading my test box at work today and it looks like a more complete upgrade: 166 packages updated, 7 new packages, 0 packages held back.

OK so 74 more updates 3 to remove and 3 new at 3:07EST-US and all seams fixed ...Kontact will load and the kmix bug quit.

err but the "show desktop" widget is gone from the panel ......no bigy LOL
