Lost Desktop!!!! pleas help!!

i just finished upgrading and updating some things. i rebooted my machine and now kubuntu loads to terminal, no desktop, no kde!!! how do i recover from command line. i can't use my OS. i would reinstall but i have a truecrypt container that i need to open and save the contents elswhere. pls help.

fixed problem. i was out of disc space and x server wouldn't load. i deleted a couple movies to make some space, rebooted, and everything is cool.

You might also want to run

sudo apt-get autoclean

to get rid of old downloaded packages that your are unlikley to need anymore.
