    Kmix not saving settings

I installed 11.10 on a firends laptop. After some fooling around I finally got the mic working.
Unfortunately I have to set capture in kmix mixer to 50% to get it to work with skype.

But after a reboot capture is reset to 0. How can I get kmix to save that setting?

My firend is an ex windows user and telling her to reset kmix after every computer start/wakeup confuses her no end.

Edit: I tried changing the setting in alsamix then:
    Code:
    sudo alsactl store
    Nada.

I also tried pluse audi mixer but the mic sounds terrible, so I scrapped pulse and only have alsa.

Where can I edit a file so that the kmix restarts with the changes active?

    I looked at~/.kde/config/kmixctrlrc but that didn't help.

Try setting the volume and then issue command

    Code:
    kmixctrl -s
Ok, got it: Ashes come from burning.

Thank you, already tried that. Capture / Micro-boost settings do not stick.

Got this from the KDE forum:

Probably Bug #293043. See comments for workaround.
Comment #22 worked on my System. I'll have to check and see on my freinds system.
