Slow unmount of USB flash after upgrade to 11.10

Ok so I hope I'm not being repetitve here but searching this problem keeps giving the same results with many distros. I have recently upgraded from 10.10 to 11.10 and now when I go to "remove drive safely" or click the eject button for my flash drive it takes a 2-3 min to unmount even after the files have tranfered. The write speed has always been a bit good and bad but the unmount time is now too long and everything I've come across doesn't really provide a fix. I did see a " pci=acpi" as possible fix but no change, as well as formating the drive. This is what dmesg shows

Anyone made any progress with this? Transfer speeds could be better also but not as much as a problem right now.
