max min close upper right window controls - weird display issue

Suddenly in the upper right of all my application windows, the max, min and close controls, or buttons, have a weird display issue: There is a gap between the maximize and the close controls. I am including a link to a very small, cropped screen capture to show what I mean...

Before this happened I went to system settings | workspace behavior | screen edges and unchecked "Maximize windows by dragging them to the top of the screen". I logged out, then back in. Same. Restarted. Same.

Any ideas on how to fix?

If you go to System Settings > Workspace Appearance > Window Decorations > Configure Buttons ... do you maybe have two 'spacers' between the 'maximise' and 'close' buttons?

Ha! I see the same thing on my T520. I'll have to try this neat fix when I get home.

BTW...this Air New Zealand 777 just landed at LAX. Very attractive All Blacks livery! It's creating a bit of a mild ruckus here in the Alaska Air lounge. "That's a 747!" "Who would ever paint a plane black?" "Where's New Zealand?" Sheesh!
