Keyboard shortcut for applications launcher menu does not work any more

I had changed the keyboard shortcut for (in System Settings > Shortcuts and Gestures > Global Keybaord Shiortcuts > Plasma Desktop Shell > Activate Application Launcher Menu Widget), and the new shortcut worked fine.

But now it doesn't (from around the time I installed some Xfce packages, I think), and if I change it Settings accepts the change but it still has no effect. (If it's the default, Alt-F1, the focused app acts as if F1 was pressed, if I set it to Meta-Space the focused app receives a space.)

Other keyboard shortcuts are fine. Also, this keyboard shortcut does work in a new test user account and can be changed.

I don't want to delete all my plasma settings files again but I'm prepared to delete a specific one if I can find out which it is ... what could be causing this fault?

Have you tried with the "Right click the K > Application Launcher Settings > Keyboard Shortcut" ?

This is saved to the ~/.kde/share/config/kglobalshortcutsrc :

    [plasma-desktop]
    ...
activate widget 78=Alt+F1,Alt+F1,Activate Application Launcher Widget
    ...
If nothing else is helping: Maybe the renaming of the kglobalshortcutsrc, when the plasma is not running /1/ , will help.

That fixes it, thanks! But it's odd: I get
The shortcut 'Meta+Space' conflicts with the following key combination:
Shortcut 'Meta+Space' in Application Plasma Desktop Shell for action Activate Application Launcher Menu Widget
Normally that action in global shortcuts is the same as the one in the widget itself. Wait, no ... it should be Activate Application Launcher Widget (the '- Menu -' widget is the classic style). I'm convinced that "Activate Application Launcher Widget" was not visible in the list of actions in the Global Keyboard Shortcuts ... but the most likely explanation is that I was being blind

Thanks for that thread link, useful info
