No desktop settings option for 1st monitor?

i updated to the this version of kubuntu and now i cant get to the desktop settings for my first monitor, only my secondary. i can edit things such as resolution and refresh via nvidia, but there is no desktop settings while right clicking or keyboard shortcut alt-d which does nothing. how can i change the background then? there seems to be no way to select it if i go to the desktop settings that i can get to on my secondary.

try going to system settings>workspace behavior>virtual desktops and check the box for different widgets for each desktop and then apply.
