Firefox 9.0.1 frequent Plasma crashes.

When I interact with Firefox latest version I get frequent Plasma crashes. Plasma then reloads and the task panel re-appears after a while. But it is quite annoying. I read people having problems with FF 7.0, but couldn't find very specific fixes or ideas. Any suggestions, people experiencing the same problem? I'm on 3.0.0-14-generic right now with Nvidia driver installed through "additional drivers" and all compiz etc. settings on install defaults.

I run 11.10 64 bit.

What version of KDE are you running ?

It also just now crashed when sending an Email with Thunderbird (8.0).

Switch to Gnome-shell it won't crash then.

But seriously, until a fix has been done can you not turn off the plasma desktop when using Firefox?

There is KDE 4.7.4 in the Kubuntu ppa. It includes fixes for plasma-desktop crashes.

I sure could. But sometimes I think if every time I disabled a feature which wasn't working, then I might as well go back to MS DOS. Still waiting for the moment when a new (K)Ubuntu installation just works out of the box without requiring days of fiddling, tweaking and updating. Every clean OS install upgrade requires lots of work...

Thanks, I did that and it does seem more stable, hopefully, time will tell .
