[SOLVED] Missing launcher items / widgets following today's update

Running 11.10 64- and 32-bit versions (on two different machines)

I've noticed that today's update seems to have removed everything other than "Favourites" "Run Command" and "Leave" from my traditional launcher - and it seems all available widgets from the "Add Widget" list.

Not sure which update it was - but on both machines they were there before the update and not after.

Any ideas on how to get my menu items & widgets back?

    Phil.

Take a look at /var/log/apt/history.log ...do you see any removals of packages containing "widget" in their names?

Now that's a really useful file to know about.

      No - nothing mentioned there...

...but a reboot seems to have fixed things on one machine (so I'm hoping it will on the other tomorrow.)

Often, but not always, updates will require a reboot in order to finish the process. You should be presented with the dialog window and button telling you this. If you don't see or get to it "in time", it closes, but the restart button icon is in the System Tray.
