I recently had some help getting kmail2 to run. There is one small problem remaining. After I set up the account I wanted it to store the password for the account. I don't want to use Wallet. When I go to the account settings under the general tab it shows fields for "Name, incoming server, user name, and password. The password box is greyed out and I can't input my password. Is there a way to change this or is kmail demanding I use Wallet?

Re: I can't set password for kmail
Hi
I'm sure that someone more knowledgeable than I will be by with a suggestion in a short while.
However, in the same place that you mention, I did, indeed, have to enter my password, it is a google g-mail account.
The only time that Kwallet asks for anything is when I shut the machine down and restart and then Kwallet asks me for my password for gmail and then I get a popup asking if I want to use the g-mail account.
I do not ever remember seeing the password box "greyed out".
I'll try adding another account and report back.
