    What have I broken

    For some reason I have a gap at the bottom of the screen when I maximise the any windows. Im not sure what I have broken, it was okay at one point

    Can someone point me in the right direction, I am very new to KDE

    I'd be checking System Settings > Window Behavior > Window Rules for rules other than (Default) Disable focus stealing prevention for XV (which is/should be the only rule there by default). If there are any others, delete them.
    Windows no longer obstructs my view.

      No there are no others in there. It may have something to do with a widget called Daisy because it is about the same size. I have removed the widget from the desktop but I have no idea how I go about un-installing it.

        If you mean Daisy as in the application launcher just uninstall in synaptic, and as an added thing I would restart the system after that.
