    Help with a Game

Hello. I hope this is the right category. I use Oneiric Kubuntu and I am trying to get Xonotic to work. I try dragging it into the window of the Konsole and it says command not found. Then I try it with sudo and sh and STILL nothing happens! All it says is permissions denied. HELP ME! PLEASE!

If you downloaded this file, you need to add the permission to execute. You can do it with the check box in the properties permission tab in dolphin.

THANK YOU! I tried the CHMOD commands but they didn't work but what you said was a LOT simpler. Also, how can I get Powder toy to work on my 64 bit system? It gives me this message : error while loading shared libraries: libSDL-1.2.so.0: wrong ELF class: ELFCLASS64
I tried googling it but to no avail.
      Again

      HELP ME PLEASE!

I am guessing the powder toy is something you downloaded from the internet. If that is true I think you are trying to run a 32 bit app on a 64 bit OS or vice versa.

I finally got it work. I had to install 32 bit libraries. I'd hate to be all ask and no give but thanks!

Ok. My last question. I looked up how to fix this but nothing works. It continuously tells me "Another application seems to be using the package system at this time. You must close all other package managers before you will be able to install or remove any packages"

I switched to start new session, went into the process manager and searched for apt, muon, everything. Nothing works. I can't install anything now.

Why don't you go to http://www.desura.com/ , create and account and download the client...

tar -zxvf the file, cd to the desura dir it creates, ./desura and log in. Then, search for your game, install and play.

Desura is a Linux, Windows based game install client much like Steam and works quite well.

Give it a try - its free and offers free games as well as paid games you can purchase.

              Makes installing games much easier

              Hope this helps!
