    Simple DVR

Hi , I am normally a Gnome user , but plan to start using Kubuntu .
When I used KDE before , I used Kaffeine to record tv . It would not read the epg , so I had to record by time . Mythtv backend has gotten relatively easy to setup over the years and isn't that resource hungry . So my question is , is there an application like Kaffeine to record atsc tv from a hdhomerun , and schedule recordings , or should I just install Myth ? Also I read somewhere that Kaffeine may not be maintained anymore , but I went to the Kaffeine site and they seem to have a recent update.
PS Kubuntu is looking really good lately and I am looking forward to making the switch !!

Here's a project I've been considering but haven't tried: TVHeadEnd.

I ended up buying a linux based dual tuner DVR instead, but I want to build my own some day.

Google bought Sage TV a while back.... I would keep an eye on that (they had both Windows and Linux versions).

But to avoid all hassles, I was extremely happy with BeyondTV on Windows back about 5 years ago... haven't used it in about 3 years though for various reasons.
