What are your sub-pixel rendering and hinting style settings? For me, "RGB" and "Slight" look the best.

      No problem!
The unjust distribution of goods persists, creating a situation of social sin that cries out to Heaven and limits the possibilities of a fuller life for so many of our brothers. -- Archbishop Jorge Mario Bergoglio of Buenos Aires (now Pope Francis)

I changed the settings to the same you have. That did the trick. I have struggeled with this issue a long time. Thanx a lot.

Thanks Jonas, I finally got to time to try those out - very interesting, great example of different tastes - it all looked good, but not to my preferences - I like darker contrasts and thicker fonts/borders, so found the font a bit spidery and the theme difficult to follow but I could appreciate it was a classic setup.

Thanks for the feedback and tips.

            Go to SystemSettings>Application Appearance>Fonts.

            Use anti-aliancing: "enabled"

Then "configure", check "use sub-pixel rendering" "RGB" and then choose hinting style which works the best for you. Note that you have to restart applications (and system settings) to see difference in font rendering.

Here's mine (with details and screenshot). I'm very happy with it. It's a tad on the GNOME Shell/Unity side of things (with the Unity-like Icon-Only Task Manager and a fair bit of zooming out to change windows/desktops). You can make KDE be many things...
