Panels that only show on one desktop

Is this possible? Basically, I have a netbook that folds down into a psuedo-tablet with a touch screen, so being able to have two desktops with two different plasma profiles would be enourmously helpful.

    Try this:

Or, rightclick pager->pager settings->virtual desktops->activate different widgets for each desktop.

    Hope that helps

That would work for widgets, but not the entire panel itself. I actually would like to have a horizontally-oriented panel on desktop one, and a vertically-oriented one on desktop two, neither of which would show during the switched desktop modes.

No, the panels cannot be removed by Activity Which imo this feature should have been left in. You definitely cannot do this with virtual desktops, .either
