    KWin effects

    Hi,

Some effects (the cube and a couple of others) in KWin got disabled for no obvious reason.
My guess is there's an implicit dependency on gconf2 or gvfs (which I got uninstalled recently).
    Can it be the case?

    Hi
for what it is worth, because the problem could be a multitude of other things, the cube is all working for me and i have gconf2 and gvfs installed.

Is there any way to run KWin in some verbose logging mode to see what exactly it's unhappy with?

What does it say in setting under Desktop Effects? Mine explicitly informed me when effects were disabled and offered the option of re-enabling them.

All the effects that got disabled are available for configuration in the settings dialog. After changing settings of any of them I get a notification that some effects have been disabled.
