Unable to play mp3 dues to ID3 tag plugin

I receive an error message stating that there is a missing ID3 tag plugin when attempting to play any mp3 on any program. I have kubuntu-restricted-extras installed and checked for any id3 libs, but Im at a loss. If there is any further details needed. Let me know. Thanks in advance for any help.

What program are you using? Amarok? Banshee? Something else?

I tried amarok and dragon media player is it? Everytime i try and play an mp3 it brings up the Qtapp thing to try and search for the codec. Which doesnt do anything it just hangs at 0%

From DarkDuck's website, it appears you need to activate the Universe and Multiverse repositories, then install the codecs that Amarok prompts.

Universe and multiverse are enabled. I can find nothing on the ID3 issue

Solved: Had to clean out some old config files from previous distro in /home

Installing the 'kubuntu-restricted-extras' package solved it for me.

              I have the same issue.
Tried to install kubuntu-restricted-extras, cancelled home/.kde/share/apps/amarok/ folder and the following files:
              home/.kde/share/config/amarok-appletsrc
              home/.kde/share/config/amarok-homerc
              home/.kde/share/config/amarokrc

              but no success...
It is still asking me for a Id3 tag plug in.
