    still struggling with npviewer

I'm trying to follow the instructions at:

    http://kubuntuforums.net/forums/inde...4758#msg274758

to install the 64 bit Flash 11 player. However I get a message that it has been deprecated and that there's an official release.

Unfortunately I haven't been able to find the right name to put into apt to install the package. Google turned up http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/completion/?installer=Flash_Player_11_for_Ubuntu_(apt) but that claims there is nothing to install.

I fired up muon and check that the partners repo was enabled. I searched for flash and found a package (flashplugin-installer) to install the nspluginwrapper which I don't want since that has the npviewer in it. I found another package (adobe-flashplugin) but that has version 10 not 11. There's gnash but experience has shown me that it fails on the sites I need flash on.

So can anyone help me get rid of npviewer.bin and get 64-bit Flash 11 installed and working?

I'm currently using chrome but will switch back to firefox if or whatever browser is necessary to resolve this.

you might want to try manually installing flash 11...
remove gnash or whatever you installed and see this thread.
