[SOLVED] Can't install Acrobat Reader on 64bit system

Hi

11.10 boasts the ability to seamlessly install 32bit software on 64bit systems. I haven't tried any other software, but Adobe don't do a 64bit version of Reader for Linux and 11.10 isn't letting me install AdbeRdr9.4.2-1_i386linux_enu.deb because it's 32bit.

Any idea why that would be?

Have you tried installing it from the repository? It's in the Partner repository.
Activate the partner repository, update the listings and look for acroread.
Personally, I have found that Okular handles PDF files just fine.

Great, thanks for the tip. I'd forgotten about the Partner repo.

You're right Okular works a treat for viewing pdfs, but can't handle forms etc that I need to fill in for government agencies and so on.
