I've removed my rspb bird song Cd from my dvd drive and dolphin has returned to normal. No sounds of the system trying the optical drive. FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIISS SSSSSSSSSSSSSSHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH.

How do i report this error?

you should be able to file it on launchpad.net also i think you can use the command 'ubuntu-bug dolphin' to start the report wizard. was it just that cd or all audio cd's or any cd? you might wish to include that bit of info when you report.

I filed a bug report on KDE's bug tracker about this: https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=277644

It seems that the more audio tracks are on the CD, the worse Dolphin's performance is. You may wish to add your own experience to the bug report as well--hopefully we can get some activity on it.

Noel galllagher even doesn't slow dolphin down. Quite good new cd. Hee hee.

The Cd that causes the issue has 99 tracks which appears to confirm your experience.

Which graphics card do you have?

what is the point of such a comment?

I thought of the current xserver-nvidia-problem. In xserver 1.10ff something was removed which the proprietary nvidia driver needs, therefore machines with that xserver and nvidia card might lag especially in KDE.

Pondus sorry if I seemed abrupt. On the video side I do have problems. I have a 15 inch monitor that seems to be non standard and the driver just doesn't work with it. The application launcher square just doesn't hold together, it's just fuzz. I've had to steal my son's monitor that works fine.

Recently every new version tends to be hard work.
