Interesting. If you are booting with the 2.6.38 kernel you should be in 11.04. Are you sure it's in 10.04?

yes it would be, bu i'm booting 2.6.32-38 which should be 10.04, (right?) but it's 10.10 (which should be the 2.6.35-32)
