wubi install - Kubuntu 11.10 x64 in windows 7 32 bit

From the title itself, is this possible?

I've tried already but it seems the installation won't finish.

My rig is an Intel Core Duo, 3GB memory and using only the built-in intel graphics.

I have never used wubi but I can well imagine you having difficulties installing a 64 bit linux distro from within a 32 bit windows environment.

Is assume your PC is 64 bit? Have you tried running as a live CD/USB by booting the computer with the cd/usb in the machine? That will rule out any problems with the medium itself.

Actually yes my pc support 64bit, and I dont have problems running the 64 bit version even with the ubuntu 64bit the livecd's.

I already tried the ubuntu 64bit installed on my system w/o any problem.

So I guess it's something with the 32bit windows 7, and I installed the 64bit. Don't you think so?

Probably

If the 64 bit runs okay as a live CD, then you can install it to run alongside windows. However, if you want to use Wubi, then I guess (stress guess) you might need a 32 bit linux otherwise the installer won't run.

I think I'll just install it along side with my windows on a different hdd.

If the wubi.exe from Ubuntu 64-bit is a compiled 64-bit binary, then it won't run on 32-bit Windows.
