After a little playing around (installing widgets and themes) on my netbook I found that I was not able to shutdown using icons and the shutdown from console stopped in the middle and I had to switch off the computer with the button.
First I thought about how fragile Kubuntu is, then I thought about reinstalling system and at the and I luckily tried:
- to rename ~/.kde
- to press Ctrl+Esc and to kill plasma-desktop
- to press Alt+F2 and to start plasma-desktop
- to restart the netbook
After that I am able with default desktop to shutdown computer by clicking an icon and the shutdown runs to the end.
