[SOLVED] Kontact misbehaving after update

Hi There,

I postponed the update to till today and see things have been pretty smoothly until Kontact got fired up. I got confronted with some "conversion tool" which ended saying it's not able to convert to KMail2 (or what) and said I should try to run 'kmail-migrator --interactive' on the console. Okay I did so but i get this now:

reg@reg-desktop:~$ kmail-migrator --interactive
kmail-migrator(3604) main: Migration of kmailrc has already run, not running it again

- great ok, continue in Kontact, I got some assistant that wanted to help me setup my gmail account again, so I walked through setting up a Generic IMAP account and once i was able to hit "Finish" I got a message sayingKMail encountered a fatal error and will terminate now.
The error was:
Failed to fetch the resource collection. - so what's going on here, how do I get my mail setup correctly in Kontact?

Hi reggler.
I'm sorry that you are experiencing problems with Kmail.

I, personally, have not had that problem so I can't speak from experience but, having read a lot on it, it seems that it might be with the Akonadi setup.

Here are two threads which might be of help.

The first one is "chatty".

Hi Woodsmoke,

Funny, I got no Akonadi Console in my K-Menu nor am I able to launch "akonadiconsole" with the launcher.... weird...

sudo apt-get install akonadiconsole

now... let's see...
