    Odd shutdown problem

Ever since moving to 11.10 my computer shuts down at odd times.
I don't think it temp related as it's happened when cpu's are at 32 deg C
I also get the your computer will showdown in 30 seconds dialogue. If I have a recording scheduled I get the greyed out screen with kaffeine has recordings etc and it hangs there until I press cancel shut-down.
I don't get this problem when running sabayon kde.
    Any pointers appreciated.

More info would be useful. What type of computer do you use. laptop or desktop etc.? If laptop are you using only the battery?

More info is required to help you.

      Sorry about lack of info.
      It's my desktop.
      Athlon II x4 635
      KDE 4.7.3
      zotac nvidia gtx 470
      uname -a Linux andy-pc 3.0.0-14-generic #23-Ubuntu SMP Mon Nov 21 20:28:43 UTC 2011 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux
main partition is on a crucial ssd with home on standard hard drive.
processor and g/card are watercooled and temp stays below 45 centigrade under load.
11.10 was a clean install including home, the only imported settings were firefox/thunderbird and virtualbox.
