    Kubuntu 11.10 logout problem (solved)

After fresh installation KUBUNTU 11.10 of I was presented with a black screen after logout from KDE.
This seems to be a quite old problem of Kubuntu with a known workaround (see e.g. http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1751580). Sadly, this "blackscreen after logout problem" still exists in 11.10 oneiric ...at least on my PC (ASUS-AM3-Board/RS880/HD4250IGP) and putting terminateserver=true in the kdmrc file works for me BUT it was only the first part of the complete solution.
Because after I did that fix the KDE Desktop didn't log out at all ! I found in the logfiles an error raised by the audiosystem. I also noticed that there was no logout sound played. So I googled and found out that pulseaudio may have crashed at logout and this prevented the KDE session from exiting to KDM. So the second part to make logout work in Kubuntu 11.10 was to remove pulseaudio (with "sudo apt-get remove pulseaudio-*") and then reboot. After that KDE logged out properly from the session and the KDM login screen was shown.
Working...
