    Whole Screen Freezes

Since doing a fresh install on 11.10 I am experiencing frequent screen freezes. The only thing functioning is the cursor all other windows etc are frozen.
The only thing I am able to do is to re-boot
Is anyone else experiencing the same thing?
I am using the Nouveau drivers and running 64 bit Kubuntu.
    Appreciate any feedback

    Re: Whole Screen Freezes

try disabling the desktop effects to see if that helps. If possible you might want to try using nvidia's properitary driver. use the "additional drivers"(jockey) program if your going to try the properitary driver.

had exactly the same issue and turned of desktop effects as mentioned here.
it usually seized in a couple minutes and has not done it since i turned it off.
didn't think it would make that big a difference.
        is desktop effects resource heavy?
