    Won't shutdown properly?

I now have Kubuntu 11.10 running on all three of my computers. They have a few different quirks each though it's the most comfortable and least fidgety I've been in three years of Linux use. All three though are a problem when it comes to shutting down the computer, compared to Gnome or Xfce. I'm wondering if this is a KDE 4.7 thing or a Kubuntu thing.

Whether I press my power button or choose Leave & Shutdown from the menu all three machines either hang seemingly indefinitely or take a couple of minutes to make a start on shutting down. I've applied all updates and checked the .iso used.

Does this sound familiar? Is there a simple solution? On the relevant Session Management page of Settings I have first, second, fourth and eighth boxes (top to bottom) checked/ticked.

Ideally this computer would either shut down or offer me the shutdown dialogue with shutting down as default option as soon as I press the power button, as would be the case in Gnome or Xfce.

    Thanks.
