Where have all the Kmail Messages Gone?

This weekend I upgraded and left the computer to do it overnight. Next morning I clicked to allow the migration of Kmail messages to Kmail2.

Everything worked fine except that now I have no messages in Kmail2.

I have checked in the old directory and the folders there are empty except for a folder called "cur", that has thousands of messages in it.

Trying to run the migration wizard again gets me the message it has been run successfully.

So, I have two questions:

1. Where are my emails that have been migrated?
2. If my mail is still in "cur" in the old directory, how do I read it in Kmail2?

Find the akonadi setup, and edit local folders to read from 'cur' (<-- lost my double quotes `` )
