Hi All,
Got a weird problem after a perfect upgrade on my Desktop box (apart from minor Kmail migration problem). BUT stepson's Dell Inspiron 8600 which was running Natty well has developed a weird problem. Cannot overcome it even after attempting clean installs.
Install seems to go well (using a direct Ethernet connection) but on power-up an error message indicates a Segmentation Fault.
The same error is thrown up if I try to enter Network Settings to try to establish a Wireless connection - System Settings immediately crashes with the following error:- Executable: kdeinit4 PID 1355 Signal Segmentation Fault (11) (The PID number changes after re-installing). I've tried Googling, re-installing System Settings, kde-workspace, kubuntu-desktop and blitzing the old .kde files. All no use!
Any ideas?
