I'm new to the kubuntu scene, mostly because I don't like Unity in the standard Ubuntu and figured I'd give Kubuntu a shot.
Anyway, after doing a fresh install, everything loaded up fine, and while checking out everything, I went into Additional drivers and noticed that no NVIDIA driver was selected for my set up: Dell Inspiron E1505 - circa 2006.
I selected the current one and rebooted, only to have the system freeze on log in. Graphics card is NVIDIA GeForce 7300 Go. I know the card was blacklisted when 11.04 came out, but has anyone noticed the same issue since Oneric came out?
The log in screen loads the first few logos, but doesn't load the picture of the desktop and the blue K. I got it to boot to a log in window and chose failsafe as an option, then went in and disabled the driver. As of now, I have no NVIDIA driver activated.
Figured I'd post this incase someone needed help. This may belong in Hardware support, but since it's a login issue I posted it here.
Thanks in advance, I did a search and didn't find anything yet.
