SOLVED Wifi Wpa Key not remembered

    Hi
I have just upgraded to Oneiric from Natty and find that every time i try to connect i have to renter the key again which is a real pain. I understand this is a known bug and wonder if there is a fix/workaround for it yet. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

check you wallet settings and besure you have not disallowed the network manager access to you wallet. and/or have a bad code stored there . look in system settings/ account details / kde wallet .

      under access control i have
      kdewallet
      kwallet manager always allow
      KDE Deamon always allow
      KDE Control Module always allow
      KDE Wallet Manager always allow
      Network Management always allow

Not sure what you mean about checking for bad code

Re: Wifi Wpa Key not remembered

@sithlord48 meant to check the WPA key you have stored and make shure it's right.

hear it connects just fine every time........but I dont use the wallet and haven't for years.
you CAN disable the wallet system and store the key within the networkmanager ...although it is not quite as secure ......but hay it's just a WPA key and to steal it would require access to the box.

Kickoff>Applications>system>wallet management tool>settings>configure wallet and uncheck "enable the KDE wallet subsystem" and click apply.

at this point I would do a restart but I dont know if it's necessary for shure.

then when you go to connect to your wireless I would ( again I dont know if it's necessary .....but this is what I do) click the network Icon in the system tray click manage connections click the wireless tab and remove the connection from the list exit out and redo the connection by clicking on the network name like you probably did to begin with.

this time it will ask (sense their is no wallet) if you would like to keep the password in a less secure file......click yes.

Re: SOLVED Wifi Wpa Key not remembered

I removed the wireless connection from the list and then re added it and it now appears to work. Not sure why.
