    Kubuntu 64 bit version

Hi everybody, my computer has got a processor Intel Core2 Duo CPU P8400 2.26GHz; so i decided to download Kubuntu in 64 bit version. When I downloaded it I saw that in the name of the file iso there's written "AMD64". Does it mean that the 64 bit version is available just for AMD processor?
If so, is there a Kubuntu 64 bit version for Intel precessors?

    Re: Kubuntu 64 bit version

    It will install just fine.

Intel's first attempt at a 64-bit architecture, IA-64 or Itanium, never really took off -- principally because it didn't run 32-bit x86 code. Meanwhile, AMD added extensions to x86 that allowed backwards compatibility. Eventually Intel adopted most of AMD's work.

The more common nomenclature these days is "x86-64," but you'll still see "amd64" in a lot of places. Wikipedia has more.

Ok, so when I see "AMD64" it just mean: this is 64 bit version. Is it right?
