      The BIOS settings make no allowance for sharing some RAM as additional GPU memory.

        The settings are there, it's just that Acer is hiding them. Various places around the net offer up hacked BIOSes -- try bios-mods.com. Oh, and glad you found a temperature tool. I've used SpeedFan.
