I installed Kubuntu on my Macbook (early 2009 edition).
The internal speakers work fine but the earplug ports are not working. Nothing happens when I plug a line in and there is also a red light coming out from it.
Things I've tried:
- Booting into Mac OSX making sure it works there
- Un-muting everything inside the GNOME ALSA Mixer program
(In ALSA Mixer I see IEC958 and IEC958 PCM checked by default)
- Tried 3 different backends (VLC, Xine, GStreamer) in Phonon
- Added options snd-hda-intel model=mb5 to the end of /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base.conf
Here is my aplay -l:
**** List of PLAYBACK Hardware Devices ****
card 0: NVidia [HDA NVidia], device 0: ALC889A Analog [ALC889A Analog]
Subdevices: 1/1
Subdevice #0: subdevice #0
card 0: NVidia [HDA NVidia], device 1: ALC889A Digital [ALC889A Digital]
Subdevices: 1/1
Subdevice #0: subdevice #0
My audio playback device preference is set to Internal Audio Analogue Stereo
and my audio hardware setup profile is on Analog Stereo Duplex.
I am out of solutions, any can help? thanks!
EDIT: nvm, I got it to work
