broken wireless switch

Hey all,

I have a Sony vaio with a broken wireless switch. I'm using a medialink usb 150n wireless network adaptor. I received an error saying wireless disabled by hardware and I cannot get the medialink to work at all. Is there a way to completely disable the internal wireless switch and only use the USB adaptor?

With the USB adapter connected, please open a console and run:

sudo lshw -C network

and

rfkill list

Then please post the output.
