    Random system freezes

I'm experiencing random system crashes after upgrading. It seems to be centered around something that happens within my web browser--happened in Firefox, so I switched to ReKonq, but it was happening there, too. I switched to Chromium and it's slightly better, but sites like facebook or google calendar seem to exacerbate it--although not all the time. I do most of my work in a web browser, so I can't say for sure it's a web page or browser-based thing, but I need some place to start.

Thinkpad x100e AMD Athlon Neo X2 dual-core processors
Kubuntu 11.10 64-bit, fresh install from usb
    separate /home partition
ATI Radeon HD 3200 graphics card
    on-board soundcard

Anything else I can put up here that would help troubleshoot, I'd greatly appreciate. Thanks in advance!

Okay, it's definitely a browser issue. And Chromium seems to have caught it. I might have cleared it out of Rekonq. At least Rekonq is staying open longer than Chromium does. I think I need to move this into software?

Have you installed the proprietary ATI drivers?
What happens when you remove them (or install as may be the case)?

I haven't. For the last several releases, I've stuck with the open source drivers without problem. I wanted to rule out flashplugin first.
