Missing menu bar (in dolphin and some other apps)

    Hi

a couple of days ago I did a totally fresh install of 11.10 (with a format of home).

On loading, I found that on a number of applications the menu (file/edit/view/settings/help) bar was missing from dolphin. One other application to which this unfortunately occurred was back in time and as a result when I open it I simply get presented with the settings pane with no option to restore. As a result I had to do a manual restoration of the home directory which screwed up all the permissions.

I've tried all means of getting the bar back and am sure it must be something simple I'm overlooking. Anyone able to help please?

    Hi there

On the right side of the window, there is a little button. Click that and you can add the menu bar back.

This is a new "Feature" in KDE. However, unlike the new "Features" in Unity or Gnome 3, you can revert back without reprogramming the OS :-D.

    Hope this helps!
