The mail from my various accounts arrives in /var/mail/username. Pre-Akonadi Kmail transferred it into its one-and-only top-level inbox ("inbox") and deleted it from /var/mail/username. Now it has an extra top level item ("var-mail-username") for the mbox, and no matter how many times I delete the 111 messages in it or move them to the "inbox", they always come back in toto the next time there's new mail. If I don't want to end up with umpteen copies of every mail, I have to delete them manually or by using another mail client like Thunderbird or Alpine. Something's borked there? I did set up Kmail from scratch to avoid migration glitches...
