I've installed the Oneiric beta 1 on one of my laptops, and it went smoothly... except for Muon. If I search muon for "gfortran", it doesn't find it... yet I can do a sudo apt-get install gfortran from the command-line, and it works fine.
The same problem exists for other packages, like "OCaml" -- I see one ancillary OCaml package in muon, for example, but can install the "missing" packages from a prompt without trouble.
The install did crash late in the install, and I had to do a command-line sudo apt-get update and sudo apt-get upgrade to get the system updated. I'm guessing that muon is confused.
Muon also doesn't have a "software updates" option anywhere that I can find. I use Muon on my Natty machines, so I'm cofnused as to these apparent Oneiric-specific problems.
Thansk for any help.
