Looking good Vinny. Any problems so far?
Did you upgrade to 4.7.1 and the 3.0.0-10 kernel?

When I did I had to change video card drivers.
I have a Nvidia 9200 card, and using the "current" driver without any problems yet.

everything seams ok so far for what I have been doing .

I installed from a daily cd img from around the 5th witch was already the 3.0.0-10 kernel and I think KDE-4.7.1 came in in yesterday's 225 updates .......but it may have been that already I dident check.

this is a core i3 with this GPU

which I assume means the proseser is the GPU as well ? IDK

found a quirk or 2 .............. wile on battery power the wireless will drop out randomly and not reconnect & desktop effects wont work.
this dose not happen in 11.04

First, impressive indeed. As far as your screens above, I must have that "nice" one above. You know, the Red/orange colored one . Any way, I made the plunge to the Beta yesterday on two systems. My main desktop and my work Test box. All is OK except for Shutting Down or Rebooting. Always get a crash report about a non-specific crash. Hope that goes away at release date. All in all I'm impressed. Very smooth. A few hiccups here and there when updating like right now. Stuck on the triggers portion. May have to force it down. Everything else runs great. Didn't know Thunderbird was up to v7. Broke many add-ons. Was able to fix some, but not all. For a beta it is very nice. I'm still productive.

Aaaa yes the crash report .....hear it is akonadi something something ....................and apt-get takes a long time to refresh the cake and list the upgrade ........but so far just miner annoyances

O and some times on a shutdown .....just sometimes it will hang at the Kubuntu/Plymouth screen and I will half to use the old ctrl>alt>sysreq+RSEIUB to reboot it.

                      Re: So far so good

Haven't had that one. The only major issue, for me any way, that I've seen is that and video be it FLV, MOV MP4 or what have you I get images that almost look like a negative, not quite as there is color but that is the look the colors give. WINE has a few issues that I'm looking into now but that is all I've seen and I have given this system it's paces.

Well, in an attempt to remove those said packages to reinstall I failed to check exactly what was being removed. DON'T DO THAT. But, with that done and doing a recovery of all that was removed, luckily GRUB was still intact enough to run recover, video is now correct. Odd. Wonder what was screwed up initially.

FWIW, I see the same problem on "regular" Ubuntu, which I've installed on a netbook. So maybe it isn't a Kubuntu problem.

Try the add-on compatibility reporter. This extension will tell Thunderbird to bypass version checking for other extensions, you might find that older ones will still work fine.

Well. I have found that KVPNC acts up like it used to but oddly enough KNET's VPN set up now works and works really well so I guess I start using it now.
