[Solved] Kaffeine has No Sound and a Black Screen

When I use Kaffeine to play either a DVD, Digital TV or a File, there is no sound and the image is black. I have all the Dependencies listed by Synaptic installed. About the only clue that I have at the moment is when I attempt to play an mt2 file, the Crash Report Assistant gives:
Application: Kaffeine (kaffeine-xbu), signal: Segmentation fault
This assistant fails to submit a report because of a lack of information. I have installed all the dbg files that I could find for all the packages.

Has anyone been successful in getting Kaffeine to work? Also, does anyone have an idea that I can try to fix this problem?

Do the posts at http://kubuntuforums.net/forums/index.php?topic=3117774 help?

There also a reference to the thread http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1482558 on the main Ubuntu forums that might have some additional information but for me and many others installing libxine1-all-plugins got kaffeine working.

I can't help with the crash though, that's never been a problem here.

Yes, I do have libxine1-all-plugins installed. I have attached the list of all the dependencies that I have installed. I also have attached the configuration window which does not give any way to configure the sound or video. I have also deleted the kaffeine file in my home directory .kde/share/apps and restarted kaffeine. This made no difference. Kaffeine works well on my 11.04 system but not on my 11.10 system - at least it does play an Audio CD.

I did manage to get more details on the Segmentation Fault the output I got is also attached.

Solved the problem by launching Additional Drivers and installing the recommended NVIDIA Driver which in my case was version 173. Kaffeine is now working brilliantly and better than on my 11.04 system. High Definition Digital TV works better though sound is still problematic, ie it randomly starts and stops.
