kmail won't send mail...

kmail 4.7 stopped sending mail one night. It just... stopped. I didn't change any kmail settings, though it might be the result of a program update, this is alpha after all. Basically when I click the send button the email moves to the outbox where it sits for eternity, even if you manually select the "Send queued messages" option.

Has this happened to anyone else? When I google the problem, all the bug reports I see are dated 2008, so I'm not sure how relevant those articles are...

Press [Alt]+[F2], type "akonadi console", and press [Enter]. What's the status of your Mail Dispatcher Agent?

Well this is interesting. I wasn't able to use "akonadi console," but "akonadi configuration" brought up a list of akonadi modules. The Mail Dispatcher Agent doesn't show up on the list and is grayed out when I search for it.
