    Strange issue with boot splashscreen

Whenever I boot into Oneric, the Kubuntu splashscreen is "pushed" halfway down the screen.

    What I mean is:

When the splashscreen is supposed to display, the top half of the screen is mostly a black field, with some corrupted color pixels strewn about randomly. The bottom half of the screen displays the top half of the splash image (you can just barely see the top of the "Kubuntu" logo, and the bottom half of the splash image is cut off.

When the OS boots down, the entire splash screen can be seen without any problems.

Anyone know the fix for this? I'm using the proprietary nvidia drivers and grub is forcing the terminal display to 1600x900. Not sure if either of those are interfering with plymouth (I assume plymouth is managing the display before nvidia takes over.)

Take a look at #2.d. on the "Top 20 FAQs" link in my signature.
