no, KDE have redone how they package the source tarballs, and what goes where and so forth, so basically many individual packages have to be re-done. Once complete, it will be easier to update packages from later sources (assuming they don't again refactor their source packaging )
so no alpha2 per se, though 4.7 rc is building if it isn't done already.
And several days later, 4.7 RC1 is still trickling through.
Some applications such as kate crash upon launching, some applications can't be upgraded due to dependency problems while others work perfectly. I'm seeing lots of error messages when some gui applications are started from the terminal. I think I can say that KDE 4.7 RC1 is not quite here yet.
I'm not surprised there has not been a release of alpha 2 and the daily build is still dated 5 July.
Many users here have said 11.04 is the best Kubuntu release ever, I'm thinking 11.10 will be even better.
i saw that alternate builds are newer and tryed 13 july build but install failed... How much more must i wait, i cant stand it anymore, have mercy! KDE4.7, Python3.2 and if they can fix kernel power consumption issues... Then its perfect

According to my attempt to dist-upgrade it today, it's in a pretty good mess at the moment, so you probably don't really want a daily build today anyway.
